About David Chandler
Colorado photographer David Chandler has previously been a resident artist at the Denver Photo Art Gallery and has exhibited at the Estes Park Monday Art Market as well as Denver-area hospitals.
Colorado is in my blood. My grandmother and great grandmother were born on the Tallman homestead in Parker south of Denver. As a kid growing up in Kansas, my favorite part of the year was our summer visit to my grandparents' cabin in Estes Park. I fell in love early with Rocky Mountain National Park and always wanted to go "further in and higher up." When I was 9 or so, after a day of hiking on the trails in RMNP, I asked my parents, "When are we going to climb a real mountain?";
I started photographing RMNP with a Canon AE-1 in high school. I continued visiting Colorado as often as possible after college and was inspired greatly by the work of Erik Stensland (Images of RMNP) in Estes Park. Since moving to Colorado ("you can take the boy out of Colorado, but you can't take Colorado..."), I've only begun to explore the enormous variety and beauty of our colorful state. When I'm in the mountains of Colorado, more than anywhere else in the world, I find myself in joyful awe of the One who made the majestic peaks, the quiet waters, and the sublime colors of a Colorado sunset.
I occasionally exhibit at art shows in Colorado, which you can find on the Events tab. For additional products such as DuraPlaq Gallery Float, please use the Contact button. Enjoy!
